The Walkabout RV Park and Campground is located at 742 Old Still Road in Woodbine, GA.
We only stayed one night as we were on our way to Florida at the time. But we spent some time walking through the whole park, and this is what we found.
This cute little 72 site campground is located right off the I-95 with very easy off, easy on access. It is definitely big rig friendly and has both 30 and 50 amp sites with full hookups at all sites.
There are some annual sites but also plenty available for travelers through the area. And their sites for the most part are grass and fairly level.
A big plus is that they definitely are kept mowed and in very good shape and so are the roads inside the park.
We have a 40 foot diesel pusher, with a towed Honda CRV behind. But the roads were easily able to handle such a big rig. So we consider the park itself to be big rig friendly.
Walkabout RV Park Amenities
The park itself is very clean and well kept with amenities such as a pool, basketball and pickleball courts, and a playground for the kids. They also have a nice area for your furry friend to run around and take care of necessary business.
The kids (that includes us big kids, too) will also love the chickens and goats that are onsite. They are well taken care of and, of course, love people and the snacks the campers bring them.
Although we did not use the bath house and laundry room, we checked and they are clean. We feel that they would be good to use if you have that need in your travels.
Lastly, there is wifi in the campground but we are not able to tell you how good it was. That’s because we use a mobile hotspot thru AT&T which gave us good coverage there. And our cell phones through Sprint provided adequate phone service.
The RV Park Staff
The staff of this privately owned campground were super friendly, very accommodating and helpful.
The park is run by an Aussie family who moved to the US in 2006. We met the owner and he was very pleasant and friendly.
They were also helpful in directing us to the nearby town of St. Mary for provisions, a post office and eating establishments. We would definitely give this campground a 4 star rating and plan to return again as we travel I-95.
The Valley Vista RV Resort is part of the Encore Resorts system and is also included in the Thousand Trails Collection too. But reservations for this 55+ resort can also made outside of that system.
It is located in Benson, Arizona. And it’s within a short driving distance to places such as Tombstone, Kartchner Caverns and other nearby attractions as well.
Because it’s located very close to Interstate 10, that makes it easy to get in and out of the park. And the access roads from the interstate are easily traveled by almost any rig, no matter the size.
Valley Vista RV Resort Hookups And Info
It is a relatively small park with 176 spots but has multiple spots for both 50 and 30 amp hookups and all have water and sewer.
But be aware that there is a $3.00 upcharge for the 50 amp sites though.
Many of the campsites are fairly level in the front of the park, near the entrance. But as you go further up the hill, they can become more unlevel.
But none of the sites we saw were difficult to get into. And they were all level enough within reason.
The roads in the park are easy to navigate even for larger rigs. However, when you enter the park, the road by the entrance shack is a little narrow for larger rigs.
But the good news is that you can definitely drive a Class A through it. We know because we did!
The park itself is very clean and well kept up. But we did not have a chance to use the restrooms ourselves.
But the laundry room was very clean and the laundry load prices were reasonable.
Resort Amenities
If you are looking for a park with lots of amenities, this is not the park for you. It’s just not set up for that kind of glamping.
But if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful spot to relax with full hookups, it is perfect.
Although the park does offer wifi at an additional charge, we did not choose to use that.
We were able to use our hotspot though, and the AT&T coverage was very good. We enjoyed good upload and download speeds throughout our three day visit.
Our phones, which are on the T-Mobile network, had good service also.
So overall, this park was a very nice place to stay and we enjoyed our visit to the Benson AZ area. And we had easy access to places such as Safeway and Walmart for provisions. In fact, they were both just a couple of miles away.
The staff was very accommodating and pleasant too.
So we would definitely stay here again. Overall, we would give it a 4 star rating for sure.
We all want to stay at the best RV campgrounds and campsites possible on our RVing travels.
And there are plenty of places to stay in this country. But not all are equal. Some are well maintained and a pleasure to stay at. But others are not.
So how do you find the camping spots that are good places to stay if you haven’t been there before?
Fortunately, there is plenty of information about RV campgrounds and campsites online. And if you know where to look you can get the information you need very quickly.
I like to use a few tools online to search for the best RV campgrounds and I’ll share them with you here.

The best resource that I have found overall for information about RV campgrounds in general is CampgroundReviews.com .
First of all, it’s completely free to sign up for and use. I like the fact that you don’t have to have another membership to get the information that you need. So this is a big plus.
I also like the fact that all of the reviews are submitted by people who have no vested interest in swaying your opinion about the campground one way or another.
And on top of that, all of the reviews go through a vetting process before they are published. This means that someone makes sure that it is a legitimate review first. Then it is posted after being approved.
Resource #2 For The Best RV Campgrounds
I honestly like to use CampgroundReviews.com for the vast majority of my campground searches.
But there is another site that also provides great information on campgrounds as well. In my book, it comes in a close second to my first resource.
That site is TheDyrt.com . There is plenty of information available about campgrounds throughout the country here too.
But overall, I have found that it has fewer reviews per campground in most cases. And that is the main reason why I give it the second place on my list of best RV campgrounds resources.
But I often find that I can get a very accurate picture about campgrounds I am considering when I use these first two resources together.
Resources For The Best Boondocking Campsites
Finding campsites for boondocking is a little bit different from finding campground information.
RV boondocking sites are sort of in a category by themselves. And most of what you want to know comes from those who have camped in those spots already.
Campground information like the kind of hookups available, site length, amenities and so forth, aren’t needed.
Instead, you need to know about things like the condition of access roads, how level the sites are, and what kind of internet access is found there.
So having previous campers share their experiences on these kind of matters is absolutely invaluable.
And the best resource I have found for this kind of information is Campendium.com .
Lots of boondockers use this website to find out what boondocking spots are available and where. And many boondockers recognize the need to share their experiences so there are always new reviews being added.
A second resource that also provides great RV boondocking information is FreeCampsites.net . This resource is a little more clunky than Campendium.com, but it has a lot of useful information though.
When I am considering boondocking spots, I almost always use both of these online resources together. When I do, I find that I get a really good picture of the campsites I am interested in.
Your Part In Providing The Best RV Campgrounds
So far, I have covered some of the most useful online resources that I know of for finding the best RV campgrounds and campsites.
But none of the sites I have mentioned could provide this information without reviews from RV travelers. The key to getting accurate campground and campsite information is getting unbiased reviews from RVers themselves.
So I highly recommend that everyone who travels by RV resolve to contribute their own reviews to help other RV travelers.
The more information provided on RV campgrounds and campsites, the better overall picture we have about them.
Also, when RVers post reviews of RV campgrounds online, you can be sure that the campground management reads them too.
And when the reviews are becoming increasingly negative about certain issues in that campground, that often gets results.
In fact, unbiased word of mouth is the best and worst advertising that RV campgrounds can have. So they know that it is in their best interest to keep the reviews as positive as they can.
So I encourage you to accept the responsibility for posting your own online reviews as a way to help make RV travel better for everyone.
