The best couples travel trailers for 2025 give two people a comfortable place to relax, sleep, cook, and enjoy traveling together. And that often means looking for a different floor plan than the family bunkhouse trailers filling many dealer lots.
A trailer that sleeps eight people may be wonderful for vacations with the grandchildren. But if most trips involve just the two of you, comfortable seating and usable living space probably matter more than extra beds.
As a certified RV inspector, I pay particular attention to overall build quality when recommending brands and models. These recommendations reflect my own assessment, and I am not being paid by these manufacturers to include them.
In my June 2025 video, I recommended three 2025 models worth investigating: the Brinkley Model I 235, Ember Touring Edition 20FB, and Highland Ridge Range Lite 189RG. They cover premium, midrange, and more affordable price categories.
The approximate starting MSRPs discussed here reflect that June 2025 comparison, rather than current selling prices. Specifications and equipment can vary between individual trailers, so check the labels and installed options on the RV you are considering.
What Makes the Best Couples Travel Trailers for 2025 Comfortable?
Before looking at brands, think about how you actually spend time inside your RV. The right layout should make ordinary camping days easier.
A Manageable Length With Room to Move
For many couples, approximately 25 to 28 feet overall is a useful starting range. That can provide comfortable living space without moving into a much larger trailer.
However, length alone does not tell you how spacious an RV feels. Furniture placement, kitchen design, bathroom access, and the space around the bed all make a difference.
Tour the trailer together and try moving through it at the same time. You will learn more from that simple exercise than from looking at a floor-plan drawing alone.
Can one person prepare breakfast while the other gets dressed? And can you pass each other without having to turn sideways or step out of the way?
Those everyday details help determine whether a trailer will remain comfortable after the excitement of buying it wears off.
Comfortable Seating and a Sensible TV Location
A booth dinette works well for some campers, but it is not always comfortable for an evening indoors. And getting into or out of one can be difficult for some people.
That is why I like theater seating, recliners, or a comfortable sofa in a couples camper. Sit down, put your feet up, and decide whether you would actually enjoy spending a rainy afternoon there.
Then look toward the television. You should be able to watch comfortably without twisting your neck toward a screen mounted off to one side.
The RV industry has put televisions in some unusual places over the years. But a trailer designed for comfortable evenings together should provide a sensible viewing arrangement.
A Bed That Fits Both of You
I generally look for at least a queen bed, while a king bed can be especially appealing. However, RV mattress descriptions deserve a closer look.
Measure the actual sleeping surface rather than relying on the word “king” or “queen.” And check whether both people can get into bed comfortably without climbing over one another.
Also consider the space beside the mattress. Somewhere to put glasses, a phone, or nighttime necessities can make the bedroom much more convenient.
A Useful Slide Room
One living-area slide can make a compact trailer feel much more comfortable. It opens the walkway and gives two people room to use the kitchen and seating area together.
However, a slide is a preference rather than a requirement for every couple. My article about the best no slide travel trailers explores alternatives for buyers who prefer a fixed floor plan.
I am also leaving molded-fiberglass shell trailers out of this particular list. Some are excellent choices, and my Oliver travel trailers review explains why they deserve consideration if you are comfortable without slides.
2025 Brinkley Model I 235: My Premium Choice
The Brinkley Model I 235 is where I would start if you want a compact couples trailer with an upscale interior. In my opinion, Brinkley deserves a close look for its attention to construction and everyday usability.

At approximately 27 feet overall, it fits nicely into the size range many couples prefer. The GVWR discussed in my June 2025 comparison was 8,495 pounds.
GVWR means gross vehicle weight rating, or the maximum permitted loaded weight of the trailer. It is not the trailer’s empty weight or a statement of how much cargo you can add.
Features That Make Camping More Comfortable
The 2025 configuration discussed in my video included reclining theater seating, a king bed, a tankless water heater, and a large-screen projector arrangement. Those are appealing features for couples who want comfortable evenings inside their trailer.
It also included an 18,000-BTU Chill Cube air conditioner. In my assessment, that system offered an appealing combination of cooling performance and quieter operation.
The trailer’s 50-amp electrical service provides more available shore power than a typical 30-amp setup. However, you still need to stay within the limits of the pedestal connection and individual appliance circuits.
What I like about this combination is that the features support everyday comfort. You are getting amenities that can improve the experience of spending time in the RV together.
Cargo Capacity and Towing Considerations
My original comparison put the cargo carrying capacity at approximately 1,600 pounds. That is useful capacity for clothing, food, camping equipment, and other travel necessities.
However, use the actual trailer’s cargo label when calculating what you can carry. Installed equipment and production differences can affect the remaining allowance.
At this weight rating, I would examine the tow vehicle carefully before purchasing. A properly equipped three-quarter-ton gasoline pickup may be a sensible match, while some half-ton trucks will run short of available capacity.
You do not automatically need a diesel engine. But you do need a truck whose payload, towing, receiver, axle, and combined-weight ratings fit the loaded combination.
Where It Fits in the Budget
In June 2025, I placed the I235 at a starting MSRP of approximately $71,000. That made it the premium choice in this comparison.
And it is definitely one of the best couples travel trailers for 2025.
For couples with the budget and a suitable tow vehicle, it is a model I recommend investigating. But even at this price level, I would carefully inspect the individual trailer before accepting delivery.
2025 Ember Touring Edition 20FB: My Midrange Choice
My next recommendation is the 2025 Ember Touring Edition 20FB. It appeals to me because it combines a couples-oriented layout with useful features at a lower price point than the Brinkley.

The figures discussed in my original comparison were approximately 7,295 pounds GVWR and 1,400 pounds of cargo carrying capacity. That puts it in a different weight category from the Brinkley, although your tow vehicle still needs an individual capacity check.
Theater Seating and a Residential Queen Bed
The 20FB is approximately 26 feet 6 inches long, with a theater-sofa slide and a removable table. Its walk-around queen bed measures 60 by 80 inches, the dimensions of a standard residential queen.
That combination makes good use of the available space. You have somewhere comfortable to relax and a permanent bed that does not require converting the living room each night.
The Stargazer skylight is another distinctive feature. It brings additional light into the bedroom, although I would also check the shade and decide how much light you want while sleeping.
Ember’s 2025 Touring Edition material identifies the queen bed, Stargazer skylight, and theater sofa among the equipment applicable to this layout. data.emberrv.com
Solar and Water-Heating Options
The 20FB has 30-amp electrical service, which can work well for many couples. You simply need to pay attention to how many high-draw appliances you operate simultaneously.
Ember’s 2025 equipment material also lists an optional instant water heater and an optional off-grid solar package. The solar package includes rooftop panels, an inverter, and a solar controller. data.emberrv.com
However, solar equipment does not automatically make a trailer ready for unlimited camping without hookups. Battery capacity, electrical use, sunshine, and water storage all affect how long you can stay.
For couples interested in boondocking, I would compare the actual installed equipment with the way you plan to camp. A package name alone does not tell you whether the system meets your needs.
Where It Fits in the Budget
In my June 2025 comparison, I placed the Ember at a starting MSRP of approximately $50,000. That offered a substantial step down from the Brinkley’s price category.
But it’s still one of the best couples travel trailers for 2025.
Of course, the two trailers do not have identical equipment. But the Ember provides a useful middle ground for buyers who want comfortable seating, a permanent queen bed, and practical camping features.
When shopping, confirm which options are included in the asking price. Two trailers carrying the same model name may have different equipment and remaining cargo capacity.
2025 Highland Ridge Range Lite 189RG: My More Affordable Choice
The Highland Ridge Range Lite 189RG is my starting point for couples who want a more affordable trailer. It offers a smaller package without requiring you to give up a dedicated bed and comfortable living space.

Highland Ridge’s 2025 model information lists an overall length of 25 feet 2 inches, a 6,500-pound GVWR, and published cargo carrying capacity of 1,465 pounds. That makes it the shortest and lowest-GVWR trailer in this particular comparison. www.highlandridgerv.com
A Practical Layout With Seating Choices
The 2025 Range Lite brochure lists a residential-size queen bed and shows theater seating as an alternative to the 189RG’s L-sofa. That makes the actual furniture configuration an important shopping detail. www.highlandridgerv.com
If comfortable reclining seats are high on your list, do not assume every 189RG has them. Inspect the exact unit and make sure the seating works for both of you.
This trailer does not offer the same premium equipment list as the Brinkley. However, buying fewer luxury features may be a reasonable compromise when keeping the purchase affordable matters most.
A simpler feature list does not automatically make a trailer unsuitable. What matters is whether it has the features you will actually use and a layout you enjoy.
Solar Equipment for Camping Without Hookups
Highland Ridge’s 2025 material lists its basic Xtend Solar I package as standard, with an upgraded Xtend Solar II package among the available options. That clarifies the solar equipment I referred to more generally in the original video. www.highlandridgerv.com
As with the Ember, check the actual installed system before making boondocking plans. The presence of a rooftop panel does not tell you the battery capacity or whether an inverter is installed.
Price and Tow-Vehicle Matching
In June 2025, I placed this model near the $35,000 starting-MSRP category. That made it the most affordable starting point among these three recommendations.
Its 6,500-pound GVWR puts it within the potential towing range of some properly equipped larger SUVs and half-ton pickups. But that does not establish compatibility with every vehicle in either category.
Passenger weight, cargo, hitch equipment, and loaded tongue weight all affect the vehicle’s remaining payload. Check those limits before deciding that this is the trailer for you.
How to Choose Between These Couples Travel Trailers
The Brinkley is my premium starting point for buyers who want more upscale features. It definitely deserves to be called one of the best couples travel trailers for 2025.
The Ember offers an appealing middle ground, while the Range Lite deserves attention when purchase price and a smaller package are priorities.
However, a brand recommendation should begin your research rather than end it. The condition and construction of the individual RV still matter.
Test an Ordinary Camping Day
Stand in the shower, sit on the toilet, open the refrigerator, and reach into the cabinets. Then check whether the bed and seating remain comfortable after more than a quick showroom visit.
Also ask the dealer to demonstrate the slide operating and show you the interior with it retracted. Bathroom access, refrigerator access, and travel-day convenience can vary considerably.
If you expect to live in the trailer for extended periods, read my discussion of full-time travel trailer living. A comfortable couples layout alone does not establish suitability for full-time use.
Inspect Before You Buy
Even a new trailer deserves a thorough inspection and a demonstration of its systems. A quality brand can still produce an individual RV that needs corrections before delivery.
And when buying a previously owned best couples travel trailers for 2025 model, maintenance history and present condition become especially important. Look beyond clean upholstery and attractive decorations to evaluate the roof, seals, floors, plumbing, electrical systems, and running gear.
My best RV brands and models guides can help you build a broader shortlist. And my New RV Buying Guide explains how to approach a new purchase, negotiate intelligently, and check the RV before taking ownership.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a good travel trailer size for a couple?
For many couples, approximately 25 to 28 feet overall provides a useful balance of comfort and manageable size. However, the layout and your preferred campsites matter as much as the length.
Do couples need a travel trailer with a slide?
No, but one living-area slide can provide welcome room for two people to move around. Couples who value simpler ownership may prefer a comfortable no-slide layout instead.
Can a half-ton pickup tow these trailers?
Some properly equipped half-ton trucks may be suitable for particular models, but the truck’s actual ratings and loaded trailer weight decide the answer. The Brinkley’s higher GVWR deserves especially careful attention to payload and loaded tongue weight.
Is 30-amp electrical service enough for a couple?
It can be sufficient for many couples, provided they manage simultaneous electrical loads. Running several high-draw appliances together may exceed the available service.
Are the prices in this article current selling prices?
No, they are approximate starting MSRPs discussed in my June 2025 video. Current asking prices will depend on condition, equipment, location, and whether the trailer is new remaining inventory or previously owned.
Conclusion: Choose Comfort That Fits Your Budget
The best couples travel trailers for 2025 make life easier for the two people using them. Comfortable seating, a suitable bed, sensible entertainment placement, and room to move deserve careful attention.
The Brinkley Model I 235, Ember Touring Edition 20FB, and Highland Ridge Range Lite 189RG are three places I recommend starting your search. Each offers a different balance of features, size, and cost.
So take your time, verify the specifications of the individual trailer, and inspect before buying. Choose the RV that fits your needs, your tow vehicle, and the way you enjoy traveling together.
Have safe and happy travels, my friends!
